In Lit. Circles this week we disscussed about the first 3 chapters in the book "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" by Avi (winner of the newbery medal). In the first 3 chapters we talked about how Mr. Grummage, the man who was walking Miss Doyle to the Seahawk was really the Captain of the boat was Mr. Grummage. When He went into the Ship we think that he was taking so long because then he could make everything in tip top shape so Miss Doyle won't get any bad ideas.
We thought that when so many people warned her from the Seahawk she was starting to get scared. The man that she first met was named Zachariah. He was a dark skinned man and was very old. He was the cook of the ship. He told her an old story of the past of this boat and how she should get off of it straight away.
In our disscussion we think that Mr. grummage a.k.a (also know as) Captain Jaggery the captain of the Seahawk is the bad guy at the moment. We found that it was really strange when Mr. grummage was always frowning and Captain Jaggery was always smiling.
